The area of \u200b\u200bthe Municipalities of M.vì Montaldo, Pamparato Roburent and has an area with features that make it difficult for certain types of aid.
A great step forward was made with the establishment of the Group of St. James Roburent of the Italian Red Cross - Local Committee of Mondovi, which allowed significantly reduce the time of arrival of relief on the spot, they can ensure the continued presence of half and qualified personnel in an area otherwise very different from other places for help. Last year, there have been more than 500 transport and rescue services, with a significant benefit for the population. Based on the experience gained, were detected a number of difficulties in carrying out certain types of aid, every time the patient was in places inaccessible by nature or made such weather conditions like snow or ice. The area is normally covered by the excellent service provided dall'elisoccorso played by 118, from the work of mountain rescue and fire departments, but often there are contingencies such that the activation time and arrival of this type of support in rescue is too long compared to the urgency happened.
The typical example is the automobile accident with off-road vehicle in a position difficult to access, or accidental falls, hikers, work accidents on construction sites or in the woods to name a few. In these cases, always in the weather, time of arrival of relief support can stretch too. E 'for this reason that the CRI Group of St. James of Roburent - Mondovi Local Committee has decided, in close collaboration with the Provincial Committee of the Italian Red Cross to carry out a course for some of its volunteers, aimed the safe use of techniques for approaching and stabilization of patients in this type of situation pending the arrival of more aid. This course called SMTS
(Aid to Special Means and Techniques) is the first ever held in the province of Cuneo and aims to provide students with the necessary knowledge to provide help in facing difficult situations with confidence, to work in relief where it is used the helicopter, forced to look for missing and rescue techniques use different than ordinary operating environment. Throughout the month of June, the students attend the lectures of instructors with frequent field trips and practical tests. Two of these students, Luciana Prato and Matthew Brignone, well as volunteers of the Red Cross, are also part of our Group Ski Rescue. We can not but be happy and wish them to pass the tests successfully will be held at the end of the course.
The purpose of the GROUP OF SAN GIACOMO Roburent CRI (the other volunteers who are already part of our group) is to improve the welfare of the whole community and provide a more complete service and professional and above all, timely.
